St George’s School

Open the Book

Now in its eleventh year having begun in September 2008, Open the Book is a fantastic opportunity to dramatise Bible stories for the pupils at St George’s School.  A band of volunteers performs a short play to the children once a fortnight, with rehearsals taking place on the alternate Mondays. This is very much valued by the school as part of their collective worship and loved by the children. Let us know if you would like to be part of the Open the Book team.

 St George’s School

There is a very strong and important link between Saint George’s Church and St George’s School. Many school events now take place regularly in church, and families at the school often receive special invitations to services at the church.

The whole school comes to church for a service usually twice a term, with the children taking a leading role in the worship.

A number of members of the congregation serve as Governors on the School Governing Body. This is a vital role, helping to give direction to the school, support to the staff and overseeing the life of the school.
