Everyone is welcome to attend the Quiet Garden Afternoons which take place in the Magdalene Room and St George’s Church garden.
During this coronavirus outbreak please feel free to enjoy the Quiet Garden but please also be considerate of other users, maintain social distancing and do not congregate in groups. Thank you.
Quiet Garden Afternoons are usually held on Fridays and occasionally on a Saturday. Please see the church calendar for the date of the next mini-retreat.
Each afternoon follows a theme such as Walking with the Risen Lord, The Easter Garden and The Celtic Way. Handouts are given to those who attend with Bible readings, information and creative activities. There is always time to listen each other and to God.
For more information about the Quiet Garden ministry at St George’s please contact Jane Silvey.
Here’s the format:
- A simple lunch of homemade soup and a roll is available from 12:30pm
- After lunch we receive a handout with the Quiet Garden theme and opportunities for creative activities
- Then we observe silence and there is time to think, pray, reflect, be creative or just be still
- At 2:45pm we have tea and cake and there is plenty of time to socialise before we close
