Our children and young people’s worship takes place during the 10am Sunday services on most Sundays throughout the year. We go out of the church to the church hall for a dedicated time to learn about God and faith and get to know one another.
We tend to focus on one bible story or reading each week. The children are normally spilt into age groups (pre-school, primary and secondary, for example).
Our super powers are having fun, being kind and welcoming! 😃
Some services we stay in church together for a family service. The ‘Friendship’ at the back of church is always available for children who wish to do some colouring or read during the service.
Messy Church
Messy Church is a great way for families to worship and have fun together. We have Messy Church on a Saturday morning four times a year. It’s always great fun, lots of opportunities for children to learn about God and Jesus through craft activities followed by a short act of worship. We then share lunch together.
Here’s the format:
- Firstly, we meet in the Magdalene Hall/Room
- We listen to a Bible story
- Activities are provided based on the session theme
- After our activities, we go into the church for a celebration with songs, story and prayer
- Then, we go back into the Magdalene Hall for lunch
It’s free to attend and open to absolutely everyone.
Young people
Are invited to stay in the service with adults or join young people’s worship.
Here’s the format:
- We gather as a group and mention one thing that we are grateful for from the week
- Then we introduce a theme and read the Bible
- After the Bible reading, we split into groups for activities
- We have a time of prayer
- Finally, we return to the service and sometimes we share what we have learnt to the congregation
